Woodville Road Tagged For Major Revitalisation
19 November 2008
The Weekly Times Messenger has reported today that Woodville Road is tagged to become the heartland axis of a major district upgrade in coming years, involving housing, health care and rail electrification.
Charles Sturt Council is currently examining a number of options for Woodville Road to create what Mayor Harold Anderson calls a "sense of place". Woodville railway station will serve as a key access point to the precinct, which aims for increased business investment and enhanced streetscapes and public places to create a strong identity for Woodville Road that is reflective of its local culture, heritage and character. The revitalisation project would link with St Clair, Woodville High School and the electrification of the rail line, with plans to also develop a medical precinct to build on the strong health services base already in this area.
