The Spirit of Sustainable Living

The natural environment is not only our inspiration, but also our responsibility. It has always been at the heart of St Clair's design, from the thousands of specially selected trees and shrubs, to the pedestrian friendly street plan.

St Clair will be Adelaide’s first large scale, inner-metropolitan “water-wise” residential address, designed to be a leader in water conservation and environmental responsibility.

St Clair will take an innovative approach to sustainable development including stormwater systems and wetlands, which will allow rainwater treatment and re-use within the parklands and street gardens. And the wetlands educational biodiversity corridors and eco-sensitive planning all underpin our commitment to the environment.

We are working with the City of Charles Sturt to reduce the amount of greenhouse gas emissions derived from street lighting by delivering sustainable street lighting to the avenues of St Clair. We will be using 42 Watt Compact Flourescent Lamps, which use less than half the energy of standard 80W Mercury Vapour Lamps for a similar amount of light. Mercury vapour lights also have rapid lumen depreciation and use high quantities of mercury, which is difficult to dispose of.

St Clair will be the first new residential development in South Australia to use environmental lighting throughout the development. And the wetlands, educational biodiversity corridors and eco-sensitive planting all underpin our commitment to the environment.

Being committed to environmental sustainability - that's the spirit.
